Tiziana Dominguez is the creative director of U Adolfo Dominguez, a contemporary diffusion line of the iconic European fashion house Adolfo Dominguez.

Formally trained in fashion design at Parsons School of Design, Tiziana is a celebrated designer in Europe and has received extensive media coverage representing Adolfo Domiguez around the world. She is regularly featured internationally renowned fashion and lifestyle publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Women. 

Through years of working in the fashion industry, Tiziana has developed a keen ability to balance both the creative and business sides of fashion. She leads a team that generates over 30 million euros in sales each year, and her designs can be found in more than 150 points of sale in 30 countries. Tiziana's leadership extends to all aspects of the brand, including campaign shoots, e-commerce, marketing, visual merchandising, and store design. 

Passionate about animal rights and environmental stewardship, Tiziana pioneered sustainability initiatives at Adolfo Dominguez. In 2011, she launched a capsule collection composed of recyceld and organic fabrics, as well as a vegan accessories line. 

Tiziana splits her time between Madrid and New York City.

1.) What was your very first job ? 

Assistant Designer for U Adolfo Dominguez.

2.) Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails. 

My job as creative director of a fashion brand is to funnel the creativity of the design, communications and visual merchandising teams into one coherent designer point of view. 

3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you ? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery ? What was there train of events that brought you to where are today ? 

I studied economics because I wanted to save the world. Then I started doing econometrics analysis for policy researchers and could not keep my eyes open. That's when I decided that maybe I could save the world some other way. 

4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant ? 

I travel a lot to get new ideas, then I come back to my base and develop them. 

5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry "success", what would it be ? 

The studio based process by which I developed the prints for our Maison is strictly art school instead of fashion school. The process is fun, creative, and the results are always surprising.

7.) In which creative discipline are you the most interested and you use between photo, film, social, experiential ?

The mix between photography, painting, and collage. 2D mix of high and low tech.
