Thomas Guilhot is a multi-awarded creative director (Cannes Lions, Epica, Clio, D&AD ...). He joined We Are Social Paris in 2014 and he’s leading a 30 people creative team. He began his career in NYC, working with famous advertising photographer Vincent Dixon and the well known movie director Stephane Sednaoui. During this time Thomas worked with lots of clients on the US market such as : Vogue, Nike, Samsung, Wonderbra, Jameson... He also worked as Art Director at Amirati NYC for the launch of Vitamin Water and Budweiser Select. Back to France, he joined the multi-awarded Fred&Farid Agency as a creative on the European Audi account, he also developed his creativity on differents creative accounts (Wrangler, Diesel, 1664, Van Cleef...). After this amazing experience, he joined FCB Group to lead the International Nivea account between Hamburg and Paris. Since he joined We Are Social, Thomas is happy to embrace his love for creative ideas and craft with the strong digital culture of the agency.

1.) What was your very first job?

Art Director at Publicis Conseil.

2.) Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I’m Heap of Production and Executive Creative Director at We Are Social. My job is to guarantee the agency’s creative strategy and its quality, but also to inspire and supervise my creative teams.

3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

When I was young, I had the chance to meet the creative world through the agencies’ eyes as Art Director, but also through the production, as I was Vincent Dixon and Stephane Sednaoui’s assistant in New York. Those two experiences really convinced me, I was sure I wanted to work in this industry.

4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

In the everyday life. By being curious in everything in every level and mostly by trying to get interested in new ways of expression.

5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

6.) What social media artist/account are you most influenced by?

I’m a huge fan of Charles Petillon. His Instagram is a gold mine of beautiful images.

7.) Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc)
