Gabriel Lippis is Creative Director at W agency (Havas Groupe). Passionate for creative, he built his career by complex and cross-channel digital content.
His strong appetite for innovations and interactions, Gabriel is always looking to push boundaries one step further. After starting as copywriter at BETC, Gabriel moves to BBDO and spent 4 years at Havas Group, working on brand such as Ratp, Orange, France inter, Lu, Canal, Airbus… He widens his skillset to digital by joining to Digital LBI (Publicis sapient) on international and luxury brands, Nissan, Renault, LVMH, YSL, Lancôme, Longchamp. Then joins Cheil Worldwide as CD for Samsung. Since 2015, he is Creative Director, at W - Havas Group, head of Advertising & Content with the mission to lead the creative excellence of the agency both on advertising and digital experiences. Award winning Creative Director, Gabriel has won more than 30 awards, in the past 3 years, and is regularly selected on Jury panels for International & French Advertising Awards.

1. What was your very first job?
Copywriter at Betc.
 
2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
I am a Creative Director at W (Havas group), I manage a team of multidisciplinary creatives and our only aim to achieve the creative excellence. My role is to assure that the creative idea remains consistent, and the quality of the work, but especially to transfer the passion, to make the audience to desire what they see.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there that you brought today?
The world of creation fascinated me from a very young age with its ability to create stories; with a photo, a line, a gesture, a few words. What fascinates me is this brain gymnastics to transfer ideas with unconventional ways, new, innovative, funny -while seeking new forms of writing.
A great form of intellectual freedom that no other profession allows.
 
4. In your growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I believe that reading is the heart of knowledge and creativity, but I also inspire from the exchanging ideas and sharing. We are often surprised what the others can bring us. A project is never built alone.
 
5. If you had to pick one piece of work or one that you are more proud of, more than that of its creative work and innovation, what is it?
Of course, we are proud of all our projects. If I had to choose one, it would be our very last project. A virtual reality (VR) platform created for Martell, the famous Cognac house, for the Asian and American markets. It is very innovative, has everything I love; innovation, interaction and a beautifully crafted storytelling. This device will evolve over time as we keep opening new doors as and when the news of the house. A lightmapping event from the xp is in preparation for shangai! 
 
6. What is the most influential social media artist?
I try to be less connected to social networks every day, but Mashable and Contagious remain my sources of creation.

7.Which creative disciplines do you most commission, and are most interested in seeing more of? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc.)
I'm always on the look for new photo writings. I am expecting to be amazed by the experiential and new technology works at the show.
