1.) What was your very first job?

My very first job was at Sonia Rykiel as press officer.

2.) Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

After many years as a Communication Director for Ladurée Pastries & Macarons, I have had the opportunity of a new challenge: my new mission since 2018 has been to develop new Ladurée brands, i.e. Thé by Ladurée and Beauté by Ladurée. As a matter of fact, Ladurée is not all about macarons, pastries and food products but also about a new Tea collection and a beautiful home fragrance range. One of my main roles as an Assistant CEO for Thé & Beauté by Ladurée, was to create completely new brands with a new range of products such as teas and candles.

It requires to be constantly inspired, creative and to always look for new ideas, new fragrances and flavours. It can be very challenging sometimes but it is mostly inspiring and fun, especially when you work with a group of people who are entirely dedicated to the brand. Even when we are running out of time for an important project for instance, we are a good team and we work together which helps a lot!

3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

When I was an intern at Thierry Mugler, I discovered the fashion sphere and I was fascinated by the huge creativity around me.

Rather than a “train of events”, I would say that it is all about the people you meet at work. So, yes, I had the chance to meet and work with someone especially creative and brilliant, who took me where I am today. I owe her a lot and by the way, we have been working together for 20 years now.

4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I find inspiration everywhere: through books, magazines, pictures, exhibitions, movies… I really think that it is very important to always be curious about the world around you and to never stop learning. After a while, you start looking at the world with more accurate eyes, as if you were always searching for inspiration.

5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

It would be all the cobranding done with the designers for Ladurée during these 20 past years. The creative side, the arty sensibility and the meeting with the designers were the best rewards. For instance, we worked with Christian Lacroix, Chantal Thomass, Christian Louboutin, Sonia Rykiel, Matthew Williamson, Alber Elbaz, Nina Ricci, BRIGITTE… All these projects were really amazing and I am quite proud of these specific collections which we launched.
