Alexandre Tan is Vice President Advertising & ExComm member at Gameloft. He joined Gameloft in 2004 as Managing Director for the publisher’s U.K. subsidiary, responsible for its commercial expansion in the U.K., Eire and South Africa. He then took on various business development and account-management roles, such as managing Gameloft's global relationship with Apple and launching Gameloft's first gaming distribution partnerships with Internet Service Providers, such as Free, as well as with various smart TV manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Lenovo. Since 2014, Alexandre spearheads Gameloft’s global Brand Solutions activities, manned by a worldwide network of Ad Sales and Ad operations managers, as well as Gameloft’s in-house digital creative agency.

1.) What was your very first job?

I started my career as a management consultant in London for what was then called “one of the big six” – this may surprise some people but creativity is very much present in the consulting world!

2.) Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I head the brand solutions teams at Gameloft, one of the world’s leading mobile games publishers. We leverage our gaming expertise to help CMOs and creative agencies establish meaningful connections between brands and their target audiences, both inside and outside of Gameloft mobile games.

3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

I’ve always been attracted to creativity & creation, whether in my professional or personal life. The fact that I am left-handed may have something to do with it!

4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

Working in the mobile/gaming/digital industry, you can never take anything for granted. Boundaries are broken daily and revolutions happen every few years (tech/distribution/other). This ever changing environment forces you to constantly revisit, question and challenge what you’ve accomplished to do better the next time around.

5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

The gamified interactive video solution our team released over a year ago now. This is the perfect example of how gamification can amplify an otherwise traditional brand message by enabling the audience to physically interact with it.

6.) What social media artist/account are you most influenced by?

I am a true fan of Trent Preszler and his preszlerwoodshop! Trent is taking the art of woodcraftsmanship to a whole new level. Browsing through Trent’s Instagram posts helps me disconnect from the “all digital” environment we live in, and reconnect with nature.

7.) Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of? (i.e. photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc)
