Mylène has spent the last 20 years working for premium and international brands, both within the marketing department of these brands and in advertising agencies. She has been developing for more than 8 year as the image director of Lacoste, producing all the content for the brand, from the worldwide campaigns to the e-commerce images. Mylène demonstrates a strong knowledge in art buying and regularly collaborates with most of the famous photographers and models in the world.

1. What was your very first job? What does it feels like to look back at it? 

When I started working, I worked in a management control department for 2 months, before understanding I didn’t like at all that job!

 

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your current job is and what work it entails.

I’m in charge of producing all the content for Lacoste, coordinating the production and selecting all the talents.

 

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Which train of events did bring you to where you are today?

I did a business school, with a finance and management control specialisation. I quickly understood that it was not an area for me. I was passionate about image and photography, but I thought it was not a serious job! Today I know how lucky I am to be so passionate about my job.

 

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how and where do you usually find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I have a wonderful team and we try regularly to visit the best exhibitions, but also to have some moments to share together our inspirations and ideas.

 

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, especially for the creative work and innovation it required rather than its recognition or industry success, what would it be?

Almost everything! Maybe more particularly the work on the e-commerce images of Lacoste because it is hard to work with such small budgets and with so many images to produce. In that context you need more talent, organisation and energy!
