Cecile Chouraqui started her career in advertising agencies (Saatchi&Saatchi, Publicis). She later joined the media world when working in press for luxury and fashion at the Jalou group (Jalouse, Muteen). She then worked in MEC Global Agency for Chanel International. Later Cecile has decided to focus more on beauty and fashion. Firstly at Sephora, where she was in charge of Advertising and Public Relations for Europe markets. She then joined the Galeries Lafayette group where she worked for both Galeries Lafayette and Le BHV Marais. During her time with the group, she managed the communication and the re-launch of the two department stores and developped 360° brand image: advertising campaigns, look books, magazines, PR and digital content. She was also in charge of on and off media strategy, managing social and digital to improve presence, reputation and transformation. She’s now Communication & Digital Director for Paco Rabanne Fragrances in charge of Event, PR, Content, Social Media and Website for the brand.


1. What was your very first job?
I worked as an account manager at Saatchi&Saatchi, the advertising agency.

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
I'm in charge of advertising, medias and contents for two department stores: Galeries Lafayette and Le BHV Marais. I develop and design all the contents/support in 360° : edition, advertising, video... As well as their media activation in traditional media, social networks, influencers and on and off line.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was the chain of events that brought you to where you are today?
I worked for 2 years at Mediaedge, Chanel media agency. I was in charge of the media strategy for Fashion, Watches & Jewellery, Fragrances  & Beauty for Europe. It was very interesting but I felt frustrated not having the whole story from the creatives.... 

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Sometimes I'm like a vampire : feeding myself with everything around me that inspires me. It can be an exhibition, a movie, a concert or even the look of someone... And I'm trying to keep some room left to dream as well! 

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?
Actually there are a lot! The very first campaign I developed for Galerie Lafayette with Ines De La Fressange as "La Parisienne" shot by Jean-Paul Goude. The BHV Marais relaunch. I'm also happy to collaborate with talented young photographers : Philippe Jarrigeon, Damien Ropero, Sean&Seng, Theo Wenner, and lately Sharif Hamza...
