questionnaire

-What was your very first job?

A Sales Associate at my hometown sporting goods store, Klein’s All Sports.

-Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I am the Vice President of Creative Services at Moda Operandi. I lead a team of 22 creative and talented individuals across production, photography, styling, retouching, and product copy who execute best-in-class results.

-How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?

My first introduction to the creative world was during my college years when I began modeling. I witnessed firsthand the disruption caused by digital photography and knew the landscape was rapidly changing. Despite my educational focus on International Business at the time, I knew this was something I ultimately wanted to be a part of.

After college, I began my career in finance behind a trading desk but life intervened when my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I realized how short life can be and began to question why I would choose to be in a profession that didn’t make me happy. From there, I took an entry level temp job with a fashion retailer and never looked back.

-In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I have a core set of themes that have always inspired me and that I routinely turn back to. I couple these foundational themes with new trends by staying on the industry pulse as much as possible.

-If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

A career highlight of mine was being a technical consultant on Nancy Meyer’s film, The Intern.

-Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)

I am truly excited to see all of the disciplines featured at CONNECTIONS, but I’m most interested in Production, given that’s my background, and Photo, as that’s what I commission the most.
