Kayte GELDZAHLER

Sr. Integrated Producer | McGARRYBOWEN

About me: Kayte is an Art Producer, a curious traveler and a people lover, who has been helping create compelling photographic content in the advertising space for the past 14 years.  Experience includes working at major ad agencies such as Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, and dentsu mcgarrybowen. She’s a problem solver who loves a challenge and considers herself to be a spirited, agile leader. She loves creating new relationships, but is fiercely loyal and continues to maintain many of the ones she formed years ago. This key characteristic makes her quite effective at leveraging resources to increase productivity without compromising the integrity of the work.

She aids in artist selection, negotiates artist usage rights, liaise between art director and artist, oversees all aspects of production, maintains full knowledge of worldwide talent pool, legal issues, manages budgets and schedule.

She’s led production on large-scale campaigns for brands that include American Express, United Airlines, Verizon, Burt’s  Bees, Chase, P&G, Marriott, Northrop Grumman, and Crayola.

questionnaire

1. What was your very first job?

I worked at my families butcher shop as a child, where I wrapped food, worked the register, pickled brisket and stocked shelves. It was great fun and created a strong work ethic, and most likely the reason I’m vegan. My first Ad job was a Publicis, shortly out of collage – where I started in new business development.

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I’m a content producer, at a traditional ad agency. I produce projects from soup to nuts, creative problem-solving, being the liaison between the agency and all outside parties, to make a production come to life.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery?

Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today? I always loved the arts and photography. I studied photo and advertising/journalism in college, and somehow found the job that married the two.

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

There are so many amazing artists out there, and to keep things current, I make sure to keep exploring via fotoworks, atedge, gallery openings, staying open to one on one meetings……etc. The more people you meet, the more doors that open.

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

I am most proud of a project I did for Amex, called ‘backing billboards’. I found amazing artists/painters in both NY and LA, showcased their skill set, and supported what they were doing by creating large street side murals of their work, with Colossal Media. We also created small videos telling their stories. Not only was it fun for me, but an amazing opportunity for these artists to get their work out there on such a large scale.

6. Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)

I’m must interested in seeing photography, production and CG.
