What was your very first job? 

My very first job was as a press foreman and then eventually head pressman. I ran a Goss Community Four-High Vertical Stack  web press. #CMYK4Life. I never dreamed of where R,G,B and pixels would take me. In the beginning, I was a traditional print girl. My degree is in Graphic Communications with a minor in Art from Cal Poly SLO.

Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I am a Senior Director of Brand Marketing for Jacuzzi Group. I run the most awesome content creation team for a house of brands that focus on at-home wellbeing and bringing that to every person everyday. The namesake brand is iconic and legendary, which means there are unique challenges that many brand managers never have to consider. The content we generate ladders to a multi brand strategy that is focused on channel and distribution. The team has generated thousands of videos, digital assets, retail visual displays, and more to support everything from brand awareness to post-purchase and loyalty.

How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?

As a master storyteller, there is always a train of events. There is no singular moment where it all came together for me. Creativity is something that was just always there. I've never run out ideas. I genuinely enjoy building content that ultimately makes me happy or smile. Like many creatives, I feed off the people I surround myself by and am completely inspired by life and the other content I ingest. I have always obsessively flipped magazines, read books, watched videos, listened to music or had multiple things going on at any one moment. I have a decent memory, so things just naturally snap together in my mind's eye and I generally know what works. When it comes together visually, you can see it.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

Travel has always been a way to keep my thinking fresh. Breaking outside of what you think you know or the usual helps to provide new views, twists on old views or even just update what's relevant and to whom. Art galleries  and museums remind me of all of the thinking over time, and tapping into that can unlock so many new ideas. Immersion into any culture can help break the pattern or spark a new idea.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

I love the idea of making water care simple. Hot tub maintenance is a key concern of any consumer. I also love food and can't pass up a great Tasty video. It was with that blending of concepts that our water care series was born. https://youtu.be/BUoniaKBSoU Although it won't win any awards, it's fun, creative and takes something not fun and breaks it down into something easy. This works on both sides of the purchase spectrum, for users, it gives you the info you need to adjust your water, and for consumers who may be intimidated by water care, it showcases how easy it can be. I love generating interest through content that can bend in multiple ways and meet a variety of objections. Plus it pushed the team to film in a different style and that's always exciting too.
