What was your very first job?
I worked after school as a greeter at a family-owned shoe store. I am a shoe lover to this day!
Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
I am a senior integratedcontent producer. I love to collaborate and make ideas a reality! My background includes managing projects from concept through post-production across media platforms. My role is an extension of the creative department. I am responsible for sourcing talent, estimating, managing schedules, budgets and guiding the agency teams and client through the production process. I enjoy blending my creative, production and people management skills to plan and execute campaigns.
How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?
Art has always been a part of life. I have been drawing, sketching, and photographing images since I was a kid in grammar school and started using photos as an inspiration for my drawings. I fell in love! I was an art director at Campbell Mithun Chicago, creating both print and motion. I had my own graphic design studio before becoming art/content producer at Frankel, Leo Burnett and now VMLY&R Commerce.
In your constantly changing world, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Learning about and exploring new talent, techniques and trends keeps me motivated. I love being a judge for industry award shows, conducting portfolio reviews, travel, visiting galleries and museums but I also find inspiration in the everyday. Art is all around us. I make it a point to get outside for long walks or a run through my neighborhood and open my eyes!
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be.
My work for Altoids.
Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)
Every one of them.
