Stéphane Gerschel is the Global Brand Managing Director of Pomellato, the Milanese jeweler founded in 1967 and now part of the Kering Group.
Stephane Gerschel has earned a Master’s in Law with highest honors from University of Paris 2 Assas, a Master’s in Law (LLM) from University of Miami and holds the diploma of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), majoring in International Business Administration and minoring in Luxury Industry Management (with Comité Colbert).
He started his career as Events Manager of a fashion agency in Munich, then moved to New York where he was a consultant in Product Development, creating the private labels for Department Stores such as Barneys New York and Takashimaya. Back in Paris, he became Head of Licensing for famed architect Andrée Putman (Air France’s Concorde, Morgans Hotel), for whom he developed over 100 lines of products in 5 years, for clients such as Louis Vuitton, Veuve Clicquot, Chanel, Helena Rubinstein, Guerlain, Christofle, Emeco, Kartell, Cappellini, etc.
He was then hired by the L’Oreal Group as Vice President Global Communications of Giorgio Armani Parfums & Cosmetics, notably launching Emporio Armani Diamonds with Beyoncé. In 2006 he joined LVMH where he remained for 10 years, first as International Communications Director of Veuve Clicquot and then as Head of Global Communications of all the business units of Bulgari: Jewelry, High Jewelry, Watches, Perfumes, Accessories, Hotels.
He has held his current position as Global Managing Director of the Pomellato Brand for 3 years.
Stephane Gerschel is the author of 5 books, including the bestselling Louis Vuitton Icons published by Assouline, and The Seasons Of Veuve Clicquot, published by Rizzoli New York, which has received several awards. He is regularly invited, as a guest professor, to share his experience and vision as an expert on Luxury. Recent interventions include his alma mater Sciences Po in Paris, Bocconi’s Luxury Master in Rome and for the past three years, EMLUX, the Luxury Masters Of Università Cattolica in Milan. He is also Editor-at-large of the new online platform AirMail weekly.
