Mounia Akl is a young Lebanese up-and-coming film director. She completed “11 minutes, 11 dreams”, a fashion film in collaboration with fashion designer Sandra Mansour which was initially released exclusively on VOGUE. She created 11 x one-minute long films shot in 11 separate locations in an effort to artfully visualize the woman Sandra Mansour had in mind when creating her ultra-feminine pieces. This resulted in a cumulative series of puzzle-like scenarios brought together by captivating imagery, sound, colour, and fashion. Throughout the subsequent clips, the dazzling gowns are exhibited by models as they parade around, against the backdrop of Lebanon’s deserted parking lots, wheat fields, and craggy Beqaa Valley. Mounia’s last short film «Submarine» won an award in the official selection of the 69th Cannes film festival. Mounia is currently developing her first feature film «Costa Brava» in the Cannes Film Festival’s residency where she was chosen to be a resident this year..
