An experienced Creative Director with a background as an Art Director, Marisa has long been active in major agency networks (WPP, Interpublic, Publicis Groupe), doing work for clients such as Bulgari, Condé Nast, Reebok, FCA, Campari, P&G and Philip Morris International among others.
Over the past 20 years, Marisa has worked mostly with global clients, leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. She has collaborated with numerous talented photographers/directors, such as Paul Arden, Bettina Rheims, Camilla Akrans, Michelangelo di Battista, Steve Hiett, Albert Watson, Andreas Heumann, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Eric Maillet, Stephane Sednaoui, Charles Negre


1. What was your very first job?

More like a thousand odd jobs I took up to pay for my studies! To name a few: maid, gas station attendant, lifeguard, saleswoman, baby sitter, entertainer in holiday villages, fashion model…All priceless experiences that taught me a lot about human behavior and psychology.

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

My job essentially consists of creating integrated campaign concepts across a diverse portfolio of brands, mainly at a global level. This means leading and managing multidisciplinary teams throughout the whole creative process, finding ambition and opportunity in every brief, seeing diamonds in rough ideas and polishing them until they break through.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was the train of events that brought you to where you are today?

I’ve always been fascinated by beauty, in all its manifestations – be it in fine arts or in nature. My parent disapproved of me studying fine arts in high school, so I ended up choosing a scientific curriculum. During the last year, my art teacher suggested I go on to study advertising in college, so I did. Amazingly, I found my passion: to this day, I still face projects with the same enthusiasm and eagerness as if they were my first one.

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I really believe creative people need to stay curious, consume everything and anything.
Be real omnivores in terms of colors, words, images, music, art, technology…
Nothing comes out of nothing.

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

I guess it would be the global refreshment of a cigarette brand I worked on a few years back – a fascinating experience and by far the job I felt most involved in. We wanted to maintain the brand’s original DNA, but at the same time we managed to evolve it and deliver an upgraded integrated communication platform: from naming to packaging, from traditional to digital, from trade communication to retail design. It was a true global 360 ° communication project.
