A highly decorated veteran of the internet advertising wars, this semi-young man has been entrenched in the world of all things digital for the past two decades. But after years of free world travel and countless dinners, he was fed up with watching agencies throw their clients' money around more liberally than a frisbee at Burning Man. Thus, he founded the tech-focused agency, Humdinger & Sons. In his former big ad shop glory days, Will was a multi-award winning digital creative director who spent the majority of his career in San Francisco, Seattle and New York at the likes of AKQA, Dolby Laboratories, OLSON, and Wexley School for Girls. His accolades include: leading the multi-award-winning rebranding for Belize (the country); co-creating Lebron James’ first Nike website, the Chamber of Fear; and leading creative advertising for several Fortune 500 companies, including Target, Capital One, and Dolby Labs.

1.)     What was your very first job? 
Clerk at the infamous Shinders of Mpls. Sold baseball cards, comics and bad porn.

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
Running an agency turns your old full-time job into four full-time jobs. Success depends on hiring people who are better at things then you are. 

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
There was one way to make a living out of art school, and that was advertising. The internet of the late 90's brought amazing opportunities to anyone who wanted it. The "Wild West" of digital marketing was a golden age.

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Listening and following individuals who have the same passion (and free time!) that I had in my earlier years. 

 5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

 6.)     Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc)
We are so multi-disciplinary it makes our heads spin. Augmented reality is going to be such a game-changer for so many things, we would love to get our fingers into it more.
