My love of content creation began when I was a photography and cultural anthropology student at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. After graduating and completing my internship at Magnum Photos, I began my career in New York working as a producer and studio manager alongside fashion photographers Troy Word, Ruedi Hoffman and others. I then made the transition to commercial production when I took on the role of Head of Production at Shelter Films, followed by a move to Crossroads Films and then had an extensive stint as a freelance producer in New York and Paris. 

I decided to head West to work as the Senior Executive Producer at Radium in both the LA and SF offices and then Spy Post before acting in the same role at L.inc Design. I moved to the agency side of things as the landscape began to evolve and production, post and the agency world began to collide. I have worked with brands like BMW, Gatorade, Target, Lexus, Coke, Virgin America, Oakley, Apple, Visa, Aria, Union Bank, Dignity Health, AAA, eBay and Sprint and have run visual effects production on music videos for artists like N'SYNC, Ricky Martin, Linkin Park, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliot, Kanye West and on feature films like Spiderman, Hell Boy, Castaway, Sin City and Iron Man. 

My all-time favorite project? Managing the visual effects on one of the first web film series made, BMW Films starring Clive Owen. The series was directed by several award-winning directors such as Ang Lee, Guy Ritchie, John Woo, Wong Kar Wai and the late John Frankenheimer, all Executive Produced by David Fincher.

I won a Webby Award for my work on Virgin America's Tribrand Film "Departure Date" as well as a Bronze Cannes Lion for my role in the production of "BLAH", another Virgin America film. As Head of Production at Eleven, I spearheaded the creation of [email protected], our full-service in-house design, print, digital, and broadcast/content production and post-production studio.

 

From Eleven, I spent a year freelance Executive Producing at various agencies such as Pereira & O’Dell, Butler Shine Stern & Partners and BBDO before landing as the Head of Production at the in house Creative Studio at LinkedIn.

I live in an Eichler home in Terra Linda with my husband and my awesome, fun kids and my Brussels Griffon doggy, Ewok.

1.) What was your very first job?

Very first was working in a flavored popcorn store where I wore a red and white striped vest and a bow tie- no joke!  First real job after interning at Magnum Photos in college was assisting a photographers’ agent in NYC.

 

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I am the Head of Production of the Creative Studio at LinkedIn.  I oversee and help a wildly talented team create highly creative content for the brand. 

 

3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was the train of events that brought you to where you are today? 

I was in love with math and organization. My (accountant) dad seemed pretty bored with his career in numbers.  So, I started writing and taking pictures.  Studying under Joel Sternfeld, I could do nothing other than be in love with photography.  Soon after living and working in NYC, I realized that I really do love math and business and would rather help creative people make creative content rather than make it myself- thus, here I am.

4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I watch and listen to my kids.  Mostly, I just listen in general.

 

5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

The Hire: BMW Films/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hire  The wprk was way ahead of its time.  Branded content was a new-ish concept, streaming was brand new (and the technology was not quite there so we were inventing as we went!) and longform, online film was a new and exciting way for people to share and experience content.
