Jennifer (Iwanicki) Beres has two decades of operations and production experience with creative agencies, PR agencies and software companies. She is a facilitator of and advocate for exceptional creative work while providing balance with financials and operational excellence. A longtime entrepreneur, she launched and sustained three companies in advertising and software. She has produced award-winning digital campaigns and film for clients including Apple, Burger King, Niagara and Volkswagen.

What was your very first job? What does it feel like to look back at it now? 

Babysitting.

 

Please describe, in your own words, what your current job is and what work it entails. 

In my current role as VP Creative Operations and Production I am a facilitator of the work. I’m responsible for the “how” of what we need to do.  

 

How did you discover that the creative world is right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Which train of events did bring you to where you are today? 

I think I’ve always been drawn to creative mediums. I grew up in a household of music and with someone always making something by hand. I was fortunate to be given an opportunity to manage a clothing line from art direction to sales. This might have been the pivotal point in my career where I knew I wanted to be around makers on a regular basis.

 

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how and where do you usually find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

The simple act of talking. We spend enough time on our screens. Learning something daily about someone else or from someone else is pretty inspiring.

 

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be? 

Curation Station. I learned a lot about product development and it was the single most complete opportunity I’ve had to lead a team who’s passion for innovation, UX, Design, usefulness and sales went well beyond my own.

 

Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc)

 I mostly commission photography and video, but in my role, I bring the best partners forward no matter what the medium is.
