With extensive experience in experiential design and creative direction, Adrian began his career in the mail room of National Geographic and rose through the system to work with a number of great partners including the U.S. ARMY Racing team, U.S. Cellular’s Sports Division, McDonald's Sports & Global Division, Pernod Ricard, FIFA and the IOC. He looks for inspiration in everything – street culture, advertising, comics, title sequences, fashion, children's art – and says he has one simple goal: leave the world a better place than when he found it.

1.)     What was your very first job? 

I worked in a steel factory. 

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails. 

My job is to show people what they didn't know they wanted to see. 

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today? 

I knew I was different because I can't draw, I can't write, I can't paint, I can't color in the lines... but somehow my ideas were pushing through. I didn't consider myself a creative until 10 years into my career. Then I was like, "OK, maybe I have a chance at this thing." 

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant? 

My two greatest inspirations are fear and a giant chip on my shoulder. Fear I'll run out of ideas and the chip from... well, you'll have to buy me a drink to find that one out. 

5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be? 

Designing the 2015 NHRA Top Fuel Dragster for the U.S. ARMY, which some may see as just a car, but to me it was the physical embodiment of my mother's dream when she left her beloved Mexico. A car representing U.S. Government designed by a first generation son of dirt poor immigrants. Not bad. Plus the design was pretty fresh too.
