Freelance Global Brand Communications Manager | ADIDAS

From Amsterdam, studied in London and after having worked in the world of fashion (both high street and couture), luxury hotels and events  for the last decade, I have decided to choose a healthier work/life balance by going freelance at the beginning of ‘21. Being able to travel, work remotely, meet new people and only work for brands that inspire me has given me more energy than the last ten years combined. Currently working as a global brand communications manager for Adidas and opening a restaurant in Amsterdam mid next year together with my family. In my free time I like to dance, take long walks with the love of my life Binky, spend time with my friends and visit my mom in Ibiza.


1. What was your very first job? 

After many internships at various fashion brands, my first real job was as a marketing communications coordinator for the Dutch couture brand Ilja, who at that time was just invited by The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to show on the official Paris fashion week schedule. An amazing experience that I'll never forget.

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

Right now I am working as the (freelance) global brand communications manager for Adidas where I am the comms lead for the new running campaign(s) launching December ‘21 and March ‘22.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?

I always wanted to express myself creatively and when I was younger this was through theater and drama, only after this didn’t work out is when I found my true passion for the arts, fashion and branding. 

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

Consumer behaviour and psychology is something that has always interested me, an image/film/advertisement can be beautifully made but if it doesn’t resonate with the right audience, you might as well not create it at all. By keeping myself up to date on trends, digital innovations, arts and music as well as pop culture I try to understand the consumer’s mindset and behaviours to create work that inspires. 

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

In 2017 I set-up a special collaboration with Amsterdam Dance Event & Foam photography museum, where we launched an immersive audiovisual experience by Jean-Vincent Simonet and DJ Trippin Jaguar. It was an event where my passion for music, art and creating unique experiences all came together.

6. Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)

I am looking to expand my network of both photographers and videographers and more specifically, female ones!
