What was your very first job? What does it feel like to look back at it now?
I started my career as a freelance journalist for a Swiss newspaper in charge of content dedicated to new generations. The goal was to encourage young generations to read newspapers, and so along with a team of approx. 15 students we generated weekly content on various themes including: fashion, sports, new technology, society, etc. I worked together with the editorial and marketing teams to create articles and launch campaigns to achieve the goal. It was a great experience which showed me the importance of knowing your target audience to generate creative content which talks to them.
Please describe, in your own words, what your current job is and what work it entails?
I oversee the online marketing strategy together with the marketing, sales and executive teams. I plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, and design, maintain and supply content for the corporate website and search advertising. I also analyse and report on visitor data, and devise new ways to market products online. I am responsible for driving relevant consumers with the goal of improving brand recognition and trust, and ultimately purchase intent. I therefore work with different agencies to make the customer journey unique and seamless.
How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Which train of events did bring you to where you are today?
I have always been attracted by graphic design and the power of creativity to deliver a message. What I like about marketing is exactly this mix of facts and figures in a creative environment and finding a way to be different and emotionally strong. I worked in the media industry, followed by the entertainment & sport industries, and finally the luxury segment. One thing is key: you need to know your customers, then you can deliver the best and most efficient creative experience.
In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how and where do you usually find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I look at the direct competition, also at different sectors to be inspired by the best concepts. It is important to break boundaries, get out of your comfort zone and to be inspired by unexpected situations and people. I am also inspired by nature as I spend many hours exploring the outdoors and discovering mother nature’s already perfect creations.
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, especially for the creative work and innovation it required rather than its recognition or industry success, what would it be?
I think that the work which is currently done by the entire company at Zenith is impressive and innovative. It can be perceived at all levels of the customer journey, and it’s only the beginning. There are so many new and creative projects in the pipeline, so stay tuned, 2019 will be big year for Zenith ;)
