What was your very first job?

I wanted to be in “advertising”, so I got a job as a receptionist in a small agency in San Francisco. Once there I quickly realized I had no idea what I wanted to do in “ dvertising". Eventually I found my way to print production, art buying, and then broadcast production. I was integrated before there ever was such a thing,

Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I make ideas come to life. When I consider what that entails, best to sum it up, being resourceful and open to any crazy solution that presents itself, while staying pragmatic about what will actually work.

How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?

I honestly fell ass backwards into it. I have no great tale to tell about my creative journey. I’m so fortunate I had amazing creative influences along the way. It wasn’t until I struck out on my own I understood what I was really capable of.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

How could you not find inspiration… there is so much to explore and try. I think the bigger question is finding the time to do it.  It's the part I struggle with… sometimes the deadlines are so crazy you just have to rely on the proven standards. I always worry it gets stale.  One thing I will add though, being independent has the perk of being exposed to lots of industries with different needs, and as a result, more opportunities to look for those new inspirations.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

One I did campaign with soup to nuts print, art buying, video, digital/web, and a pop up store in NYC. At the time Experiential and Integrated were new buzz words and they were changing the dynamic of how we were approaching things. Sure they’d been around awhile but it was a new kind of focus.  For instance, what the hell did I know about commercial real estate in NYC? Leading the team to figure it out and the richness with which it was done, still amazed we pulled it off.

Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)

I always want to see the photography. I’m obsessed with pictures. I absolutely love seeing how the professionals can do what they do. CGI/Animation is always doing the newest, coolest things.
