Adam is an award-winning creative with over 20 years of experience bringing craft and excellence to the entertainment and advertising industries. His passion for music, animation, tech, and gaming, has led to the creation of successful branding and digital / social campaigns for some of the biggest brands in pop culture, and around the world. After starting in New York at the School of Visual Arts, his career has spanned over top advertising and design agencies filling roles as Design Director at VH1/MTV Networks and the Head of Content at Translation before being named Group Creative Director at Havas/Annex in Chicago and now Head of Design at 14th And Market.

What was your very first job? 

My first official job in creative was at MTVN/Pop culture productions as a freelance Jr. Art Director. My first job was cleaning horse stalls at a rodeo when I was 14.

Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

As Creative Director or Design Director creating big ideas and putting them into practice. As a creative you always look for the possibility that asks a previously unknown question and that is where the excitement begins. I'm always looking at the most incredible work and connecting with those who have the potential to be the best. Design is about communicating visual concepts and we interpret thoughts, feelings and hopes into real world ideas that we hope resonate with our audience.

How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there a train of events that brought you where you are today?

As a kid in elementary school I was very good in art class then a saw this movie EVIL DEAD 2 and started making horror movie posters(my first Ads), if you have seen evil dead you would know its more of a dark comedy and this is what made the art teacher not want me in his class any more. It was discouraging and I quit art till I was about 20 where I met a fun very weird cool graphic design teacher. It was this Basic graphic design class that inspired me to be in visual communication again.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

The next generation is always coming up with something new and it is important to admire and then challenge yourself and your team to create with the same passions and energy.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?

The work for "UnitedMasters", It was really awesome being involved from the ground up.

Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, production, social, experiential, vr, cgi, animation etc)

I'm into - film, social cgi, animation.
