questionnaire
1.) What was your very first job?
Barista at a French café in Ann Arbor.
2.) Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
I’m a senior producer at VML. I take great creative and help make it come to life with great help from talented directors, editors and other producers.
3.) How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
I definitely fell into advertising but I studied film and I think production was something I was always interested in from a young age. I’m a first generation immigrant and the only thing that gave me comfort as a young kid who didn’t speak English was watching tv shows and movies for hours.
4.) In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I’m a big fan of trying to work with new up and coming talent, specifically young directors. It can be difficult for others to let go of some security and take risks but I think it’s important to keep evolving.
5.) If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?
Probably the Panama tourism project. I don’t know about innovation but I think filmmaking is all about immersing and giving yourself into your surroundings. That is what this project did for me.
