How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
I’ve always drawn and painted since I was about 3 years old. I wanted to be a fine artist but went off piste for a few years, there was a moment of clarity, when labouring, digging holes in the freezing cold and generally being pretty clumsy in the construction world, I knew I had to get into the creative industry. I then chose graphic design.
In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Keep an open mind, be proactive, keep a sketch pad, keep an ideas journal, subscribe to feedly, watch indie films, listen to music, embrace new technologies but don't forget your craft, attend events like pekka kucha, keep a blog, be open to insights and feedback, travel.
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?
