Karen has been with Moët &Chandon for over 4 years and runs all the Digital Marketing activities for the brand group internationally. Sheoversees a team of Social Media, Brand content, Acquisition strategy and Data intelligence experts to ensure the Digital performance at all levels of the organization. Prior to LVMH, Karen has been involved in developping multi-channel marketing strategy and digital projects in luxury and media companies, such as Cartier and M6.

1. What was your very first job?

A photo assistant for a fashion photographer. I worked in his agency with magazine editors and that's when I discovered the beginning of the Internet in 1997

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I am responsible for leading global Digital Marketing activities at an international level. I manage on a daily basis a rather large project scope that goes from branding topics, on which I work with creative teams, to much more transactional projects with the raise of e-commerce and market places. 

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was the train of events that brought you to where you are today?

I have always had a special relationship with photography. In my close entourage first, family and personal, I am surrounded by photographers and then professional. This allowed me to forge a photographic culture quite young and therefore to develop an aesthetic sensibility and a strong sense of image that serves me daily in my work.

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I feel that we are living in a very creative time, in every sense of the word. Whether in pure creation, in business or even technology. As a result, and because of my job, I constantly try to cultivate my curiosity. I read a lot of articles, I try to inspire myself constantly and in a wide variety of fields. Openness is the key and digital is very conducive to that. It's a place for creativity and sharing. So I discover a lot of things and I get inspired a lot from what I discover on social networks for example.

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

I would choose a project that I had the chance to create for Cartier. I had to work on the launch of a digital campaign for the LOVE collection and I had the idea to produce short films with Olivier Dahan. It was in 2006 and we had created a series of 12 interactive black and white films exclusively online. It was very daring and innovative for the time and especially a very inspiring project. Working with a great director and launching such an ambitious digital campaign was really the project I'm most proud of.
