At 18, I broke the Italian record in 110m hurdles. Since then I never stopped: Naples, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, with a few stops in Warsaw and Moscow working as Oral Care P&G creative responsible for Eastern Europe. I shot to the top from being an intern copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi Rome, to Bates, Testa Group, BGS D'Arcy and finally to Saatchi & Saatchi Milan where I work since 2003. As a Creative Director since 2013 I manage different people for the strategic and creative needs of my clients and I lead pitches and creative presentations for national and international brands (especially in GDO, retail and fashion-luxury markets). As Global Creative Director for Fixodent P&G I manage teams from different countries, backgrounds, departments to create and adapt the communication in more than 23 markets. Always searching for personal and professional challenges, one day I stopped in front of a t-shirt hanging in a shop window and I read: “I’M AN INCURABE ROMANTIC”. That’s how I am. 1. What was your very first job?

A hurdler. At 18 I broke the Italian record in 110m hurdles. Overcoming obstacles has always been my destiny job, I believe. And guess what, there’s the same competition in the ad biz as on the running track.

2. Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

I create, I dream, I fight, I have fun with young and talented people every day. And they pay me for that. Can you imagine? As Global Creative Director I manage different teams from different countries, backgrounds, departments to create and adapt P&G communication strategy in more than 23 markets. But my best friend says that I just win pitches.

3. How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

My uncle Dario was ECD at McCann Rome back in the 70’s and I fell in love with his fascinating job and his globetrotter friends. One day, seeing me crying for yet another failed romance he told me: “There are loves to be lived and loves to be written”. And he gave me my first pen. That’s how I began. Now I can say I found a love that allows me to do both. Writing for a living. And viceversa.

4. In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

I love travelling a lot. With my boyfriend, my friends and preferably alone. When you travel alone you are invisible. Nobody knows you so you can go unnoticed wherever you like, do whatever you want. It’s the best way to find inspirations. I’m always searching for personal and professional challenges, enlightening experiences, moments of serendipity. I don’t believe in coincidences, you know. Life is all about signs and discoveries. One day in Amsterdam I stopped in front of a t-shirt and I read: “I’M AN INCURABE ROMANTIC”. That’s how I am. For you to discover.

5. If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

illy coffee global repositioning campaign. We won the international pitch with two words and a mistake: LIVE HAPPilly. And the best recognition was hearing Kevin Roberts saying “you are a fucking genius” in front of the client.
