Giampaolo comes from Apulia, the most southern part of Italy. Passionate about photography and reportage from an early age, always attracted by the fashion world, he however chose to study architecture in Milan, where he incidentally still lives and works.
After 5 years at university, he took a new road, and a shooting for Italian Glamour marked his photographic debut. A self-proclaimed lover of classic elegance and real beauty, he names Avedon, Penn and Meisel as his masters.
Following closely every aspect of his art, from shooting to retouching and printing, Giampaolo regularly contributes to titles like Vogue Paris, Vogue Japan, Vogue Deutsch, Vogue Korea, Vogue Homme China, Italian Glamour, Hercules, and Italian and German GQ. His fashion clients notoriously include Dolce&Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Ermenegildo Zegna, La Perla, MaxMara, Emporio Armani, Gucci, Pierre Balmain, Massimo Dutti and Blumarine.
Giampaolo just finished is first short movie for the designer Francesco Scognamiglio.
