Marsha TRAINER

Marsha Trainer began her creative career in the film business with time at

Miramax, Walden on an various sets and lots. After a move into the indie world,

she produced a short film that was short-listed for Oscar and began to blog about

art, food and film. All of that landed her at Target as a producer, where she found

her passion. A few moves later, and she now leads the internal studio and art

production at Periscope, and continues to find inspiration in minimalism, dictator

cats and her son.

1 My first job was as the clerk in a video store. Enough said.

 

2 Thereʼs a lot of talking involved in my job, but itʼs all in pursuit of ultimately

keeping everyone happy, inspired, satisfied, secure, confident while we pursue

the creation of great images and footage. Each day involves both beauty and

business - and thatʼs the part of production that I love.

 

3 I was in Los Angeles, the city of dreams and the movies, but doing production

accounting. I moved to the midwest and someone told me Iʼd make a good art

buyer and got me an interview at Target. From there, NO LOOKING BACK.

 

4 Big Glossy Magazines. Stellar Food Writing. Minimalist Everything. And… My

Six-Year Old. These things keep me moving forward with purpose.

 

5 Frankly, managing a team is what Iʼm most proud of, as living, breathing

people make it all worth it.
