A creative director specializing in innovative live activations such as Secret Mean Stinks: Biggest Assembly Ever, McDonald's: The Burger Artist, and Room 237. Kevin also produces and performs at various live events with acts such as Jared Leto, Marilyn Manson and LCD Soundsystem, including the first ever US date of “David Bowie Is” and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

1.)     What was your very first job? 

 

In 3rd grade, I had started my own poster business in homeroom, and got all the kids to create poster art and sell it to each other. So that may be the first commercial art business I ran. Though I got into trouble with the Principal and had to stop, as you aren't allowed to run a business out of a classroom.

 

 

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails. 

 

As an Associate Creative Director that leans heavily on new technology and real world event production, I’m constantly keeping up with what we can do and how we can pull it off effectively – but it’s always through the lens of technology servicing the idea.

 

 

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? 

 

What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today? 

I was obsessed with just making things as a child. Comic strips, puppets, action figures, video games, robots. When I was 16, my best friend’s mom was one of the first female 3D artists working on brands such as Power Rangers, Hot Wheels and M&Ms. She is the one that encouraged me to get into advertising and was my first summer internship. Advertising gives me the opportunity to pursue anything I can dream up – as long as I can also sell it.

 

 

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative 

and relevant? 

 

I keep up with the American zeitgeist by reading compulsively and critically. It’s not just about what’s new, it’s how we can twist it a bit to add meaningful commentary. Staying relevant means staying out of the bubble of talking to oneself.

 

 

5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be? 

 

Room 237 is a recent piece I am very proud of, as it was put together with zero budget & zero media with a ragtag crew of friends making it into the pages of Esquire Magazine and international cinema magazines.
