What was your very first job? What does it feel like to look back at it now?
My very first job was in a shoe store when I was 13.  That’s a long time ago.  My very first job in Production was at Young & Rubicam, Melbourne as a Junior Producer when I was 19, also a very long time ago and amazing to think I have been making work for 20 years!  It was a great job, we still shot everything on film and ran to the lab after each shot to do clip tests to check exposures.

Please describe, in your own words, what your current job is and what work it entails.
I am a co-owner of a creative production company in Amsterdam.  I am very lucky to get to work on some of the most beautiful photography and content projects in the world.  I work with a lot of the top advertising agencies and direct with global brands to make imagery for their campaigns.  I am a producer that stays very close to the creative team to come up with the best solution for each brief.

How did you discover that the creative world is right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Which train of events did bring you to where you are today?
Honestly, it’s all I have ever done.  I still love my job and have never imagined doing anything else!  I fell into Production quite accidentally.  At university I was studying photography and working in a camera store when I met the head of Production at Y+R who needed some help.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how and where do you usually find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I think with the changes in the industry my job just gets more and more exciting.  You need to be flexible and adaptive, there are so many people making such beautiful work these days, which means you have to stay on your toes and inspired by everything and anything visual.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, especially for the creative work and innovation it required rather than its recognition or industry success, what would it be?
That’s a very hard question, I can find something I love about everything I have made in the past years.  If I had to pick one campaign that stands out it would be the Absolut Transform Today campaign that we produced at Sid Lee about 5 years ago.  It was a year long process that involved collaborations with talented artists, that started with a search of about 3000 incredibly interesting people from all walks of creativity down to the final 4. It involved all the aspects of production and problem solving that I love and ended up being a collection of images that moved absolut away from the very iconic work they have been making for decades.
