What was your very first job? What does it feel like to look back at it now?
My first job was that of a shop window dresser. I had always the ambition to become a shop window dresser, but after practicing it at school when I was 16 years old, I hated it. Looking back at it now, I still can sometimes use some of these skills in my work as an artist and art-director. But luckily not too many!

Please describe, in your own words, what your current job is and what work it entails.
I’m one of the founders of communication agency KesselsKramer in Amsterdam and in London. My background is in design and art-direction and apart from that I work as an artist and publisher.

How did you discover that the creative world is right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Which train of events did bring you to where you are today?
From a young age I’ve got the freedom to work in the creative field. I’m very happy that I’ve worked in many different creative fields and because of this find it very easy to cross-over a lot.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how and where do you usually find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Inspiration for your work should always be found outside of your work. A conversation on the street, something hanging in a tree, a malfunction in your computer, the random patterns in a marble tile etc. etc.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, especially for the creative work and innovation it required rather than its recognition or industry success, what would it be?
This would be the ‘24hrs in photos’ project I did. 24 hours of photos downloaded from flickr.com, printed and displayed on the floor of a museum.
